Rwanda
Why Rwanda is special
A landlocked country located in the heart of Africa, Rwanda has been going from strength to strength in recent years, having one of the fastest growing economies on the continent. It is not a typical safari destination compared to its neighbors Kenya or Tanzania. A safari in Rwanda offers something very different, like tracking mountain gorillas in the Virunga volcanoes, looking for the Nynungwe chimpanzees or relaxing on the savanna plains of Akagera National Park, an example of conservation and work for the last 10 years.
Rwanda as a destination in itself is exciting. Nicknamed "the land of a thousand hills", it offers a verdant landscape that stretches from the eastern plains of Tanzania to the central forests of the Congo Basin. In between you will be able to meet and discover the tribes that make up this beautiful country, friendly people willing to meet you and learn about your origin, country and customs, while showing you their culture.
Formerly the main interest in Rwanda were mountain gorillas and the offer was not much wider, the government has invested a lot in protecting the remaining national parks, as well as in recovering them so that the safari offer in Rwanda is wide and diverse, being able to enjoy an experience at the highest level.
Rwanda's commitment to tourism is evident, taking great care of the traveler and offering space to the best chains in Africa, so that they can build the best lodges in protected areas where they can offer responsible tourism and protect the ecosystems where they are located.
Without a doubt, Rwanda is gorillas and much more, if you want to discover it, count on us.
When to travel to
Rwanda
Possibly the best time to travel to Rwanda is from mid-May to mid-October. This is the "dry" season and this makes the conditions to go to see the gorillas more favorable. When it rains more the experience is complicated because there is more mud and it will not be as comfortable if it is raining continuously during the expedition.
Rwanda is very close to the Equator and this makes temperatures quite stable all year round, depending on the altitude, but they tend to be around 30ºC on average and 21ºC in Kigali, the capital.
March to mid-May is possibly the time of the most rain in Rwanda.
Mid-October to November, the season of short rains.
December to February is the second best time to go to Rwanda, there will be hardly any rain.
